Thousands Receive Unnecessary Vaccines

tA reported boom in U.S. whooping cough cases is now being questioned after health officials discovered a regularly used lab test misdiagnosed cases in suspected outbreaks in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Tennessee. The false positive test, reporting that persons had pertussis when they did not, resulted in thousands of people to taking antibiotics unnecessarily.

In March 2006, when a lab worker at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., was diagnosed with pertussis, nearly 1,000 hospital workers were tested, treated and furloughed to prevent infecting patients. Thousands were given antibiotics and vaccinations. The precautions affected staffing levels, and the hospital had to close off some beds. About 100 employees were diagnosed with pertussis using the speedy test, results later found to be wrong.

In April 2004, a 5-week-old infant in one Tennessee community, which CDC wouldn't identify, was diagnosed with whooping cough. Health officials began looking for the illness in other residents. Ultimately nearly 1,500 people were checked or offered antibiotics; 43 tested positive at first. But the more reliable test turned up negative results for all except the baby, the CDC said.

COMMENT: The CDC considers vaccines -- and antibiotics -- to be harmless, rather like "a little is good, a lot won't hurt." I wonder how many of those thousands who received unnecessary medications and toxic jabs had reactions? Of course, the CDC tracking that...only random cases of pertussis.

Shingles Vaccine, Zostavax, Causing Severe Reactions

Zostavax, the new vaccine to prevent shingles in adults, was approved for use in May 2006. As of June 1, 2007, 590 reports of adverse reactions have been submitted to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). Of those, 44 were classified as serious, defined as “instances of hospitalization, life-threatening conditions, disabling illness, death or other medically important conditions.” Among the 44 severe reactions, there were two deaths.

A reaction at the injection site –the most commonly reported adverse event–was reported in 307 cases. The next most frequent events were a rash (177 cases) and 145 cases shingles were reported, meaning, the vaccine caused the illness it is supposed to prevent. More than half (59%) of the 44 serious events occurred in women, and most (43%) occurred in patients aged 70-79 years. Examples of nonfatal events included three cases of anaphylaxis in patients aged 71, 76, and 79 years.

In addition, there were 34 reports of Zostavax being given to children instead of Varivax, Merck's childhood vaccine for chickenpox. Each dose of Zostavax contains 14 times the amount of varicella zoster virus as Varivax.

Despite the reports of serious reactions and deaths, CDC official, Dr. Sandra Chaves, claimed, “Zostavax seems to have a very good safety profile,” proving once again, that the federal bureaucracy loves every vaccine it approves regardless of the damage it can cause.

COMMENT: Zostavax was licensed for prevention of herpes zoster (shingles) in adults aged 60 years and older. Shingles and chickenpox are caused by viruses that are closely related. When adults are re-exposed to the chickenpox virus from their children, the immune system is stimulated to keep dormant viruses in check. With the elimination of the chickenpox virus from general circulation, the CDC anticipates that as many as 50 million adults could experience the horrendous, often disabling pain, caused by shingles.

It gets crazier all the time: They are now creating vaccines to treat problems caused by vaccines.

Gardasil Continues to Maim and Kill

NOTE: Posts are Tues-Thurs-Sat....please subscribe!

Shannon Nelson, 18, a Chicago area athlete, musician and artist entering college reported to The National Vaccine Information Center that she received the HPV vaccine (Gardasil), the meningitis vaccine (Menactra) and the chicken pox vaccine (Varivax) simultaneously on June 21. Symptoms of tingling, numbness and muscle weakness began within a week and progressively got worse. By July 5, she was paralyzed with Guillian-Barre Syndrome (GBS) and spent the next 22 days in the hospital.

"Before the shots, I ran six miles a day," said Nelson. "The doctors told me I might have been put on a respirator if I hadn't been in such good shape. My mom and I wish we had known about HPV vaccine risks, especially what could happen if I got other vaccines at the same time."

A total of 1,930 adverse events involved administration of Gardasil alone have been reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS); 135 adverse events involved co-administration of Gardasil with Menactra.

Seven deaths have been attributed to Gardasil alone.

+++++++++++++++++
COMMENT: All this carnage was done in the name of "protection." Fortunately, medical bills from her hospitalization may be covered by the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program but it will take years to receive the money, if any is awarded. More importantly, I hope she will completely recover from this episode of severe vaccine injury.

Unfortunately, the physician who administered this poisonous cocktail has no liability for the act. I suspect the doctor said something like, "Gee.....wow....eh, sorry.....gosh, this is really rare.....it must have been a coincidence, certainly not the vaccines." Rather like the coincidence that happens when your toe turns blue after you drop a frozen turkey on it.

Physicians are responsible for acts of omission and acts of commission. We need to hold physicians accountable for their ignorance about vaccines. The physician who administered three vaccines to Shannon Nelson needed to look no farther than the Physician's Desk Reference, referred to as the PDR. Information was readily available that could have alerted him or her to the risk of concurrently injecting these shots. GBS is listed as a potential side effect for both Gardacil and Menactra; giving them together would no doubt increase the risk. In addition, Gardacil has only been tested for simultaneous administration with the hepatitis b vaccine. Combining the HPV vaccine with Menactra and Varivax effectively used this young woman as a guinea pig.

Your doctor may be the nicest person in the world, but I believe that when their children are maimed by vaccines, parents need to start filing lawsuits against physicians (and nurses) for negligence. Ignorance is no defense, especially when every medical office has multiple copies of the PDR readily available and the Internet gives them easy access to all the CDC documents about vaccines. You probably won't win your suit-- healthcare workers are protected from liability by the government when they give vaccines. BUT when a doctor recieves a notice about a potential lawsuit, it is called a "30-day Letter." That letter must be reported every year to the doctor's malpractice carrier for the rest of his career. If the doctor gets several notices, the cost of the doctor’s malpractice insurance (which is already $18-24,000 per year, or more) could increase substantially.
This avenue needs to be explored as a way to hold them accountable and force them to learn about the problems associated with vaccines.

"We have the most vaccinated kids in the world..."

NOTE: Blog posts are T-Th-Sat....please subscribe!

This is Anne McElroy Dachel's "Letter to the Editor" of the Centeral Valley (CA) Business Times, published on 8/9/07. For those of you who do not know Anne, she is a One-Woman Wonder, tackling the job of educating the press about the tragedy and epidemic of autism. Thank you, Anne, for all the work you are doing.

To the Editor:
The story about the $7.5 million dollar grant from the EPA to study the relationship between genes and environment triggers with regard to autism and other disabilities again seems to be avoiding a major health care controversy, while seeming to focus on the epidemic.

There is no doubt that many factors may be involved in the explosion of autism in the U.S., including exposure to chemicals during fetal development, but here again countless parents who claim their children became autistic after childhood vaccinations, will wonder if the purpose of this study is again to deflect focus on the vaccine issue.

San Diego Union Tribune recently reported, "Others think a combination of genetics and environmental factors is to blame. Some family members have postulated that mercury in certain vaccines may trigger the condition, although researchers have discounted that theory. The focus in San Diego will be on early development of autistic children, as well as the genetic footprint of the disorder's earliest stage." This research coincides with the National Institute of Health five year autism study now in progress which seems to be trying to strongly make the case that autism is present from birth.

The EPA and NIH are determined to look for any possible cause for autism other than the exposure to known neurotoxins in the dramatically expanded vaccine schedule starting in the 1980s.This chart compares the vaccine schedule in 1983 and 2007. There is no proof that vaccinating children with endless chemicals is in any way safe.

The vaccine schedule more than tripled in the last 24 years and many of these vaccines contained mercury. Everyone seems to have just accepted the claims of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that their studies show no link between vaccines and autism. They used the same kind of research published by the tobacco industry in the 1940s and 50s to disprove a link between smoking and lung cancer: Easily manipulated populations studies.
Here is a website explains that the vaccine issue isn't just about the mercury-based vaccine preservative, thimerosal. There are a host of other dangerous and deadly ingredients in vaccines.

We have the most vaccinated kids in the worlds and some of the sickest. As we have dramatically increased the number of vaccines, we've seen explosions in the rate of juvenile diabetes, childhood cancer, bowel disorders, asthma, allergies, and autism. In the 1970s, the autism rate was one in 10,000. Today it's one in every 150 children, including one in every 94 boys. The CDC attributes this to "better diagnosing and greater awareness" on the part of doctors and no real cause for concern.

Since this is an EPA grant, perhaps they would be interested to know that ninety percent of the flu vaccines recommended for six month old babies and pregnant woman at all stages of pregnancy contain a massive mercury assault. A pregnant woman receiving a flu shot gets 25 mcg of mercury. According to the EPA, that's intended for someone weighing 550 pounds. Mercury in those vaccines can easily pass the placental barrier and enter the developing baby.

It seems EPA guidelines don't apply to vaccines.

Sincerely,
Anne McElroy Dachel

We're making a difference!

Yesterday morning on CNN, the commentators were discussing that it was "back to school time." The lead line was something like this: "Millions are returning to school and thousands are doing so with out vaccines because their parents are refusing them."

Of course that was followed with chatter and chiding about the importance of vaccines and public health responsiblity and the "free riders" who depend on others for herd immunity...yada yada...But the headline made me wonder:
  • Are parents starting to realize that the risk of the infections--measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox--are far less than the risks of the disease?
  • Are parents starting to learn how to take care of a child with a viral infection and be willing to miss a week of work if necessary while their child recovers?
  • Are we realizing the risk of autism is REAL--and long term--and the risk of chickenpox and other childhood diseases are minimal and short lived?
  • Are we approaching children from the stand point of health and keeping them well instead of worrying about disease?

Are we approaching the 100th monkey about vaccination?

Vaccinators threatened with death

A polio vaccination programme in a Pakistani tribal region has been suspended after villagers threatened health workers. "We have stopped vaccination programme after tribesmen threatened workers and broke their equipment," Dr Cherag Hussain told the Reuters news agency. "They have threatened to kill health workers if they visit again."

COMMENT: Pakistan is one of four remaining polio-endemic countries, along with Nigeria, India and Afghanistan. Since there are no records, children can receive dozens of doses of oral polio and monthly vaccines are the norm. The new, high-potency, monovalent oral polio vaccine that is
5 times more potent than other vaccines, was recently administered by campaigners without telling parents that it was experimental. The result has been outbreaks of paralysis written off with the standard comment of "better reporting."

So far in 2007, there have only been 345 eported cases of polio worldwide,
according to World Health Organization figures. Millions of children are dying of malnutrition and from vestiges of war. And yet, the Rotary Club and other organizations are more interested in eliminating a virus that is associated with filth than providing potable water and an education. No wonder parents and local officials are threatening to kill the invading vaccinators.

Canadian Government Overrides Doctors on Gardasil

The government of Ontario has announced that it will offer free HPV vaccines to girls in Grade 8, beginning this fall. Premier Dalton McGuinty made the announcement at Women's College Hospital in Toronto. Under the $117-million three-year program, the HPV vaccine, Gardasil, will be offered to approximately 84,000 girls. The vaccinations will be administered by public health nurses in schools.

COMMENT: The government decided to go ahead with this mandated despite the Canadian Medical Association's plea to halt the program due to safety and efficacy concerns. In an interesting twist, 13-year old girls get the final say on the shot: They can refuse against their parents wishes. Conversely, they can get the shot even if their parents do not approve.

Looks like the government listened more to the Merck lobbyists than to its own medical doctors. Or, perhaps it was something else? Last summer, Texas Governor Rick Perry received "kickbacks" for mandating the vaccine by executive order. Wonder what Premier McGuinty received for this decision?

Even The Canadian Medical Society says "Wait" on Gardasil Vaccine

In a report to be released this month, The Canadian Medical Association sheds doubt on the efficacy of Gardasil, the new vaccine for HPV. It urges that before governments allocate huge sums of limited health care dollars to this vaccine, research needs to be done to determine if it really does prevent cancer. The FDA approved this vaccine without proving that it prevents cancer.

Everyone needs to be aware of this. Both of the articles in these links are definitely worth reading...and printing out for your friends.

COMMENT: Most HPV infections are cleared spontaneously. About 70% of infected women clear the infection within one year; within 2 years for 90% have eliminated the virus. Cervical cancer will not develop in most women, even if they are are infected with even a high-risk strain of HPV. Gardasil is the most expensive childhood vaccine, currently costing $360 for 3 doses. Yet, as the journal article points out, the cost-effectiveness analyses of the vaccine is missing.

Invasive cervical cancer is a slowly progressive disease that can be halted at various stages through the use of routine pap tests. Even more, vaccinated girls and women still need to practice safe sex--HIV and other sexually transmitted disease are out there and could be a much worse problem than HVP. The vaccine will give a very false sense of security about "protection."

Think long and hard before subjecting your daughter to Gardasil. Be sure to read the FULL package insert...and ask questions if you don't understand it. The Harvard Women’s Health Watch suggests the use of the vaccine should be a matter of individual choice rather than a government mandate. I wholeheartedly agree.
